KLEMME — Harold Glenn Abele, 78, of Klemme, died Wednesday (Jan. 7, 1998) at the Heritage Care Center, Mason City. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church, Klemme, with the Rev. Jerry Robertson officiating. Interment will be in the Ell Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Tenold Funeral Home, Klemme, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, and one hour prior to services at the church.
Harold Glenn Abele, the son of John L. And Esther (Schuldt) Abele, was born July 12, 1919, in Liberty Township, rural Klemme, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Evelyn Hartwig on July 16, 1940. They farmed south of Klemme, and moved into Klemme in 1990. Harold was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church in Klemme, where he held many offices. He enjoyed farming, trucking seed corn, fishing and his grandchildren.
Surviving are his sons, John Abele and his wife, Pat, of Klemme; Robert Abele and his wife, Janet, of Garner; and David Abele and his wife, LaDonne, of Klemme; daughters, Linda and her husband, Roger Meyer, of Goodell, Iowa; and Virginia and her husband, Fred Edmunds, of Richmond, Texas; grandchildren Douglas Abele, Grant Abele, Dennis Abele, Deanna Abele, Brent Abele, Jeff Edmunds, Darci Edmunds and Ryan Meyer; stepgrandchildren Angela O'Donnell, Bobbi Mary, and Joseph Mary; great-grandchildren Erin Abele, Rachel Abele, Cory Abele; and stepgreat-grandchild, Hunter O'Donnell; sisters Ruth Pringnitz, of Klemme; and Hilda Greiman, of Garner; one brother, Harry Abele and his wife, Colleen, of Britt. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Evelyn; three grandchildren; and sister, Madeline Abele.
