10 March 1829 -- 30 August 1894

Christian Lau was born March 10, 1829 in Pribbenow, Mecklenberg-Schwerin and died August 30, 1894 [Klemme, Iowa] at the age of 65 yrs. 5m 20d.  He came to America and settled with family in Clayton County.  Last fall he moved to Klemme to be near his children for the rest of his life.  About 30 years ago, through the work of Br. Fiegenbaum, he became a Christian. After that, in the church, during prayer hours his seat was never empty. He still attend prayer hour two weeks before his death.  His death was caused by a growth in his stomach. His marriage with his grieving wife {Dorathea Bruggemann] was blessed with 11 children, four of which died before their father. The rest hope to see him again in heaven.  The sermon was given by Br. Schuldt.
