Gertrude A. Meyer, 98, of Mason City, formerly of Clear Lake, died on Thursday, January 10, 2002, at the Good Shepherd Care Center. Funeral services were held on Monday, January 14, at the Redeemer Lutheran Church, Ventura. The Rev. Daird Korth officiated. A graveside service was held the same day at the Clear Lake Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to either the Clear Lake or Ventura Public Libraries. The Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.

Gertrude Meyer, was born on April 27, 1903 in Elkader, Iowa. She was the daughter of Fred and Minnie (Behrens) Radloff. She moved from Elkader to the Klemme area before being united in marriage to Victor Meyer in Garner. They farmed near Garner and Ventura for many years and in 1937, while still farming, they purchased the Mason City Hatchery. In 1956, they ceased farming and moved to Clear Lake while continuing to operate the hatchery. Mrs. Meyer was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church and the Dorcas Society, the Ventura Garden Club and the R.H. Club in Ventura. She enjoyed gardening and flowers.

Survivors include her two daughters, Dolores Kotz and her husband, Earl of Clear Lake and Janice Waldron and her husband, Don of Winter Park, Colorado; nine grandchildren, Dennis Kotz and his wife, Tanya of Clear Lake, Krismar Kotz of Mason City, Randall Kotz and his wife, Dianne of Clear Lake, Dana Wilkinson and her husband, Mark of Bettendorf, Dawn Harrington and her husband, Paul of Woden, Brian Waldron and his wife, Rita of Ventura and Todd Waldron and his wife, Sherri, Craig Waldron and Scott Waldron, all of Winter Park, Colorado; 15 great-grandchildren; five sisters-in-law, Evelyn Radloff, Ann Radloff, Lydia Schneider, Arlis Meyer and Esther Meyer; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Victor Meyer; one daughter, Lanida Willig; and seven brothers and sisters.
