Evelyn M. Mehus, 81, Eldora died July 7 at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines of breast cancer. The body was cremated and a graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Eldora Cemetery. Following the service, the family will greet friends at the Wildlife Club, 32740 210th St., rural Eldora. Evelyn loved working in her garden. She and her husband Joseph once farmed near Klemme.

She was preceded in death by her husband and daughter Carla. She is survived by daughters Adela Niedermann of Ankeny and Lavon Pfeifler of Des Moines; son Neal Mehus of Radcliffe; brothers Lloyd Pringnitz of Clear Lake and Stanley Pringnitz of Osage; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
