28 September 1902 -- 8 December 1977

Jacob Ludwig Blumer the son of Jacob and Minnie (Juers) Blumer, was born September 28, 1902 in Liberty Township, south of Garner. After the death of his parents he was raised by Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kraus of Garner. He attended school at Klemme and was confirmed in the Immanuel Reformed United Church of Christ of Klemme. October 16, 1924 he was married to Fannie Heginger at the Peace Reformed Church parsonage south of Garner. They farmed 43 years in the Garner area. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Garner. He served on the Soil Conservation Board and was a director of the Concord Township Schools.

He is survived by his wife, Fannie; his children, Mrs. Alvin (Betty) Halverson of Garner, Mrs. Raymond (Ivadell) Schoenwetter of Garner, Robert and his wife, Iola of Garner, Donald and his wife, Thelma of Guttenberg, and Harold of Des Moines; fifteen grandchildren and a sister Mrs. Esther Lemke of Mason City. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters Mrs. Lillie Baack, Minnie Blumer, and Mrs. Anna Waddingham and two brothers Emil and Walter.
