Regina Schneider, 86, of Shell Rock, passed away on Wednesday, June 23, at the Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community in Waverly. Regina Marie Schneider was born on Oct. 31, 1923, the daughter of Alfred and Florence (Dempsey) Hanson in Rochester, Minn. She attended school in Hayfield, Minn. and Clarion, and graduating from Clarion High School. On Nov. 11, 1943, she was united in marriage to Francis W. Schneider at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Westhampton, Long Island, NY. Later in life, she worked at the Shell Rock Care Center. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. Regina enjoyed her flower garden, nature, watching birds, watching "Days of Our Lives" and "The Young and the Restless." She volunteered for the March of Dimes, Poppy chairwomen and the Cancer Society.

Survivors are her children, two sons, Duane (Connie) Schneider of Waverly, and Kenneth (Cathy) Schneider of Shell Rock; six daughters, Barb (Larry) McCauley of Coweta, Okla., Mary (Lewis) Newcomer of BonAqua, Tenn., Margaret (Gary) Foutch of Griffith, Ind., Lois (Terry) Morrill of Waverly, Francine Schneider of New Philadelphia, Ohio and Donna Johnson of Shell Rock; 29 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren and a brother, Ray (Pat) Hanson of Leawood, Kan. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francis on April 13, 1970; son, Jimmy Schneider on Jan. 4, 1995; grandson, Andrew Billman and by a brother, Roger Hanson.

Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, June 26, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Waverly, with Fr. Mike Tauke presiding. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery in Shell Rock. Friends could call from 4 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly, and also an hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. There will be a scripture services Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
