Alton Harding Holum was born August 1, 1925, near Clarkfield, Minnesota, to Henry and Agnes (Sorenson) Holum. He was baptized and confirmed at Bergen Lutheran Church. He attended rural school. On December 20, 1957, he was united in Marriage to Lorraine Hubert, of Holmes, Iowa, at the Little Brown Church in the Vale, of Nashua, Iowa. Their married lives were spent in the Dawson, St. Paul and North Branch areas of Minnesota, later moving to Moberly, Missouri.

Alton had heart problems and died Wednesday, March 7, 1990, at the University of Missouri Medical Center, Columbia, Missouri, at the age of 64. He is survived by wife, Lorraine and four sons: Raymond, stationed at K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base, in Michigan, Wayne, at Christ College, in Irvine, California, John and his wife, Claudia, at the University of Minnesota, Duluth branch, and Edward, of Moberly; one daugther, Mrs. Vern (Galene) Kassahn and granddaugther, Krystal Kassahn both of St. Cloud, Minnesota; one step-son, David Hubert, of Moberly; one brother, Lawrence, of Minneapolis, Minnesota; two sisters, Hazel Puffer, of Frederic, Wisconsin, and Mrs. Floyd (Verna) Pharr of Cottonwood, Minnesota; one aunt, Mrs. Evelyn Sorenson, of Clarkfield; also numerous nieces and nephews and in-laws. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry & Agnes; one son, Donald; two brothers, Milton and Marvin; and two sisters, Amy Ostenson and Lorna Lamberger.

Sunday, March 11, 1990, 2:00 p.m., Bergen Lutheran Church, Stony Run Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota
