Arthur W. Nuehring, 94, of Clear Lake, IA, died Sunday, May 13, 2010 at the Muse Norris Hospice of North Iowa Inpatient Unit, Mason City, Iowa. Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday June 19, 2010 at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, Iowa with Rev. Jim Allard officiating Chaplin of Hospice of North Iowa, following the service he will be buried in Clear Lake Cemetery, Clear Lake, Iowa. Family suggests memorials to Salvation Army.

Arthur was born May 15, 1916 near Kanawha, Iowa the son of Herman and Caroline (Jesse) Nuehring. He was united in marriage to Ruth E. Ward of Wesley, Iowa on Jan. 21, 1939. He retired in 1976 from the Atomic Energy Commission and moved to Florida and to Clear Lake in 1986. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake, Iowa. Art is survived by a daughter Linda Thatcher, New Port Richey, Fl. and a son Craig (Carol) Nuehring, Clear Lake, Ia. five grandchildren Dan, Matthew, Michael, Jennifer and Karin; one great-grandchild Alaina and two brothers Harold and Ronald and four sisters Dorothy, Mildred, Lois and Janice. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one brother Eugene. Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St., Clear Lake, Iowa.
