OWATONNA, Minn. -- Charlene N. "Lady Bird" Lampshire, 58, 403 Cindy Lane, died Tuesday (Nov. 5, 1996) at Cedarview Nursing Home. Services were held on Friday, Nov. 8, at the Sacred Heart Church, Owatonna. Burial was in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City, Iowa. Brick-Postlewaite Funeral Home, Owatonna, was in charge of arrangements.

Charlene Paulsen was born March 24, 1938, in Mason City, Iowa, the daughter of Thomas and Violet (Johnson) Paulsen. Mrs. Lampshire worked at Cedarview Nursing Home for 15 years. She was a member of the Owatonna Eagles Auxiliary and was known as "Lady Bird" to truckers using CB radios.

She is survived by two sons, Dwight Wessels of Goodell, Iowa, and Duane Wessels and his wife, Barbara, of Belmond, Iowa; one daughter, Lila Pfleger and her husband, Chad, of Knoxville, Tenn.; a very special friend and caregiver, Mary Etherton, Owatonna; four brothers, Tom Paulsen Jr. of Abilene, Texas; Bradley and Mike Paulsen, both of Mason City, Iowa, and Francis Paulsen,
Lincoln, Neb.; four sisters, Violet Gouge and her husband, John, of Garner, Iowa; Nicole Helen Birch, Huntington Beach, Calif.; Phyllis Meyering and her husband, John, of Clear Lake, Iowa; and Jennifer Goll of Bakersfield, Calif.; four grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Memorials may be send to 403 Cindy Lane, Owatonna, Minn.
