Mrs. A. E. Lawton, 158 Argyle Street, and Mrs. Susie A. Black 1615 West Third street, Wednesday night received word of the death of their brother, William Brisbin. 86. retired farmer, in Eagle Grove, Ia., after a week's illness. The sisters had visited Mr. Brisbin last Sunday. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p. m. Friday in the Eagle Grove Methodist church. Mr. Brisbin leaves a son, Fred, at Eagle Grove, and a daughter, Mrs. Fern Lyons, in California.

EAGLE GROVE — William A. Brisbin, 86, retired farmer, resident of Eagle Grove and vicinity for 62 years, died in Goldfield Tuesday. Funeral services will be held Friday at the Methodist church Eagle Grove, at 2:30 p. m., in charge of the Rev. J. R. Tumbleson, with burial in Rose Hill cemetery by Kubitschek and Kastler. He is survived by one son, Fred in Eagle Grove, and one daughter, Mrs. Lucy Lyons, in California. He was born in New York.

William A. Brisbin, 86, a retired farmer and business man of Wright county, died at the Bangston convalescent home in Goldfield, last Tuesday evening; following a lingering illness. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Methodist church in Eagle Grove with the pastor, the Rev. J. R. Tumbleson, conducting. Burial was made in Rosehill cemetery in Eagle Grove with Kubitschek and Kastler of that city in charge of arrangements. William A. Brisbin, the son of Charles and Jennie Kellus Brisbin, was born in Orange county, New York state, on August 26, 1856.
While a child he moved with his parents to the province of Quebec, Dominion of Canada. Mr. Brisbin received his education in the public schools of the Dominion, and as he grew to maturity, he worked as a farmer. At the age of 21 years, he went to Winnipeg, Canada, where he worked for a short time for the Canadian Pacific railroad, then came to Black Hawk county, Iowa, where he worked on a farm for a year. He purchased a team of horses and drove to Wright county, Iowa, in the year 1880, where he bought an 80 acre farm in Dayton township. He lived on farms in Woolstock and Eagle Grove township and later he moved to Eagle Grove where he was engaged in business.
Mr. Brisbin was united in marriage to Miss Hannah Yeoman, on September 21, 1881, and they began house keeping in Woolstock township, and lived continuously in this community for fifty-seven years. Mrs. Brisbin died October 24, 1938. To them were born four children, Lucy and William, who died a number of years ago, Fred of Eagle Grove and Mrs. Fern Lyons, of Roseville, California. Surviving Mr. Brisbin are ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren, Norma Lou, Richard and Donald Weiss of Atlantic, Iowa; Robert Lee Brisbin of Eagle Grove and Heather Brisbin of Hamden, Connecticut. A brother and a sister of Mr. Brisbin preceded him in death in infancy and a brother, John, died about forty years ago. Three sisters also survive, Mrs. Elsie Stearns, Brockton, Mass., Mrs. Susie Black and Mrs. Anna Lawton of Waterloo, and two brothers, Charles and Leslie of Napa, California.
