Lonny L. Stoffer, 50, formerly of Belmond, died June 29, 2005 at his home in Monett, MO. Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 16 at 10:30 a.m. at Dugger Ewing Funeral Home in Belmond with Pastor Lynn Spencer-Smith officiating. Inurnment will be at the Belmond Cemetery.

Lonny Lester, the son of Lester Wilbur and Laura Marie Hunst Stoffer, was born December 1, 1954 in Belmond. He graduated from Belmond High School in 1973 and obtained an associate degree in law enforcement at NIACC. He married Laura Kiefer in 1981. In 1999 Lonny moved to Monett to pursue his dream of being a professional dog handler and breeder. On August 15, 2003 he married Donna Barnes in Miami, OK. Lonny was a member of the United Church of Christ in Belmond. Lonny was a member of Bulldog Club of the America and the French Bulldog Club of America, and will be remembered by those in this field for his Twin Lakes line. He was an accomplished and admired breeder and professional dog handler.

He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife Donna; sons Robert Stoffer of Forest City, Logan Stoffer and Louis Stoffer of Belmond; mother Laura Saunders of Belmond; sister Jill Stoffer and husband Mark Allen of Belmond; and brother Leland Stoffer of St. Petersburg, FL
