Marie H. Wassenhove, 88, of Moline, died Sunday, April 18, 2010, at Rosewood Care Center, Moline. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 22, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Moline. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. today at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline, where the St. Mary's Altar and Rosary Society will recite a rosary at 4 p.m. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Church or the American Heart Association. Marie was born June 28, 1921, in Woolstock, Iowa, daughter of Frank and Verna Groves Hunter. She married Frank Wassenhove on May 6, 1944, in Moline. He preceded her in death July 21, 2004. Marie was a member of St. Mary's Church, St. Mary's Altar and Rosary Society, the East End Club and the Svithiod Club. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Charles Reveal, Alpha; a daughter-in-law, Beverly Wassenhove, Aledo; and son, Donald Wassenhove, Moline. There are seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Marie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank; a grandson; a son, Larry Wassenhove; and a daughter-in-law, Colleen Wassenhove.
