RITES HELD FOR MRS. WAYNE MIDDLETON

Mrs Wayne Middleton, 69, a longtime resident of Eagle Grove died last Thursday evening [June 26, 1969] at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Dodge, where she had been admitted earlier in the day. She had been in ill health for some time. Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 30, 1969 at the United Methodist Church at Eagle Grove with burial in the Glenwood Cemetery in Goldfield the Kastler Babcock Funeral Home was in charge.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Keith Sadler, Mallard; 3 stepdaughters, Mrs. Jean Wittman, Washington, D.C.; Mrs. Gail Parris, Ottumwa; Mrs Doris Hill, Waterloo; 21 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bruce and Burdette Middleton, both of Eagle Grove and a sister, Mrs. Leonard Midland, West Madison, Wis.

Dorothy Irene Middleton was born in Eagle Grove and graduated from high school there. She graduated from the University of Iowa at Iowa City and taught school at Renwick for several years. In 1927 she married Calla Tanck of Renwick. He died in 1945. She married Wayne Middleton of Eagle Grove, in 1962 and he died in 1964.

Mrs. Middleton was a member of the Esther Circle of the Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, Worth While Class Renwick Birthday Club and Fortnightly Club.
