WINNEBAGO, MN----DENNIS T. SIMON, age 69, of Winnebago, died Monday, March 17, 2008, at his residence at rural Winnebago. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 21, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Winnebago, with Rev. Wane Souhrada officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Winnebago. Visitation time will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Spencer-Owen Funeral Home in Winnebago. There will be no visitation at the church.

He was born October 24, 1938, at Belmond, Iowa, the son of Telford and Laura (Johnson) Simon. Dennis was a graduate of Winnebago High School in 1956 and Golden Leaf Farrier College at Sturgis, S.D. On July 22, 1967, he married Jane Werner at Wells. He was a lifetime farrier and raised quarter horses. Dennis was on the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Quarter Horse Assn., Minnesota High School Rodeo Assn., and a founding member of the Gopher Saddle Club.

He is survived by his Wife: Jane Simon, Winnebago, Daughter: Jody (Cody) Blackburn, Prior Lake, Son: Jay (Amy) Simon, Winnebago, 2 Grandchildren, Kylee and Cole, Brother: Curtis (Sherry) Simon, Winnebago, 2 Nieces and 2 Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Parents.
