Arno Rhodes Myers, 96, was a devoted advocate of education and his children. As the founder of Airtite Inc., he wore many hats: accountant, president and chairman. During the 1950s, Mr. Myers served as president of the Glencoe and New Trier High School Boards of Education. "He signed both my grade [school] and high school diplomas," said his son, Lawrence. Mr. Myers died of a heart attack and stroke Saturday, April 3, 2004 in his home in Naples, Fla. Mr. Myers was raised on a farm near Clarion, Iowa. He earned a business degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1931. In 1939, he established Airtite Inc. in Chicago, a manufacturer, installer and distributor of interior building products. During his tenure on the New Trier High School board, Mr. Myers convinced the board to build the second school in Northfield to relieve crowding, his son said. Mr. Myers also is survived by another son, Douglas; a stepson, John Stockton; two stepdaughters, Ann Caskey and Nancy Miller; 10 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Interment will be held at 10:30 a.m. June 26 at the North Shore Garden of Memories, 1801 Green Bay Rd., North Chicago.

Arno Rhodes Myers, 96, a former resident of Glencoe, died April 3, 2004 at his home in Naples, Fla. [Florida]. Mr. Myers was born Aug. 27, 1907. Survivors include his sons, Lawrence (Nancy) Myers of Glenview, Douglas (Terry) Myers of Boulder, Colo.; his stepdaughters, Ann Caskey of Northfield and Nancy Miller of Northbrook; his stepson John (Karen) Stockton of Denver, Colo. [Colorado]; 10 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his wives, Verna (nee Ravenscroft) Myers, Elizabeth (nee Stockton) Myers and Elizabeth (nee O'Boyle) Myers; and his son, Rhodes Myers. Interment will be at 10:30 a.m. on June 26 at North Shore Garden of Memories, 1801 Green Bay Road in North Chicago.
