Rev. Harry A. McKinney, age 81, of Beaver Dam, WI went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 23, 2003 at the William S. Middleton V.A. Hospital in Madison. He was born on April 4, 1921 to James F. and Flossie I. (nee Baines) McKinney in Virden, IL. He married Naomi Louise Bennett on September 27, 1939 in Aurora, IL.

Rev. McKinney is survived by his wife Naomi of Beaver Dam, four children: Bunny (Paul) Phillips of Mt. Vernon, IL, Jeffrey (Dotty) McKinney of Peru, IL, Susan (Don) Frolik of Rice Lake, WI and Candace (David) Patzlsberger of Beaver Dam, one sister: Bernice Nodruff of Ft. Myers, FL, 14 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rev. McKinney is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter: Sandra Johnson, one brother, James LaVerne McKinney and twin great granddaughters Anna and Madison McKinney.

Harry was a graduate of East Aurora High School in Aurora, IL where he excelled in athletics. He attended Augustana College and entered the United States Marine Corp during World War II. After returning home from the war, he and his wife Naomi were Saved in 1949. From there, he entered Moody Bible Institute in Chicago and graduated in 1954. He served as Pastor at many churches including Farmington, IA from 1953-1956, Belmond, IA from 1956-1962, Barron, WI from 1962-1967, Beaver Dam, WI from 1967-1974, Red Bluff, CA from 1974-1980, Bonita Springs, FL from 1980-1992 and Sheboygan, WI from 1994-1996. Upon retiring from the ministry, he and his wife moved back to Beaver Dam, WI.

Funeral Services for Rev. Harry A. McKinney will be on Wednesday, February 26, 2003 at 1 p.m. at the Bible Baptist church in Beaver Dam with Rev. Robert Johnson, Rev. Bill Lytell and Rev. Bill Bennett (Harry's nephew) officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 25, 2003 from 4-8 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. There will also be visitation on Wednesday, February 26, 2003 from noon until the time of service at 1 p.m. at Bible Baptist Church in Beaver Dam. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam with Graveside Military Rites provided by Beaver Dam American Legion Post #146. Memorials may be made to the family. Koepsell Funeral Home in Beaver Dam is serving the family.
