Mr. John Wenzel, Sr. died at his home three miles east of Lostant on Monday at 1 o’clock, Dec 9, 1912. He had been suffering for the last few years. Both he and his wife were taken to Streator Hospital last spring but he found no relief. Mr. Wenzel came to America about 35 years ago from Hessen Germany. At first he settled at Granville and for the last thirty years lived in Richland Township, He leaves behind to mourn his loss an aged wife, two sons and one daughter; Hartman, of Granville, John and the daughter at Meservey, Iowa also one brother of Goodell, Iowa. Mr. Wenzel was born April 20, 1831 and was 81 years and 7 months and 19 days of age. The funeral was held at the Lutheran Church, north of Leonore, Dec 12, 1912.
