Charles Radechel, 68, Preston native

A memorial service for Charles Radechel, 68, of Clarion, Iowa, was held at the First Lutheran Church, Clarion on Monday. He died Wednesday, June 23, 1999, of cancer after a very short illness. He was born Feb. 11, 1931, at Preston, Minnesota. He attended school at Wykoff and Winona and graduated from Winona State College. He married Ruth Krage of Winona May 28, 1955. He taught school at Clarion for 26 years. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Kris Cawthorne, Des Moines, and Ann Marie Radechel of Clarion; two sons, Scott and Craig of Clarion; and nine grandchildren. Other survivors include three sisters, Ann Bergan, Rochester, Marion Bicknese, Chatfield and Addy Murtaugh, St. Paul. He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother, John Pesek, a former Wykoff resident.
