Des Moines, IA -- Corrine C. Reed, age 88, passed away, Sunday, March 7, 2010. Corrine was born December 7, 1921, near Coulter, Iowa, the daughter of John and Emma (Krietlow) Guldberg. She was baptized at St. John Lutheran Church near Coulter and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Dows, Iowa. Corrine graduated from Dows High School in 1938 and attended Hamilton Business College in Mason City, Iowa. She was united in marriage to John W. Reed of Dows in 1946. They lived in Des Moines from 1947 until they moved to Clive in 1977. Corrine is a retired secretary and volunteered at Veterans and Lutheran Hospitals. She had been a member of Grace Lutheran Church over fifty years and was a member of Lydia Circle. Corrine moved to 3801 Grand in the fall of 2007 and lived there until her death.

Corrine is survived by a sister, Ellen Dodge of Winter Haven, Florida; a sister-in-law, Daphne Guldberg of Clear Lake; nieces, Denise (Randy) Hendricks of Clear Lake, Dawn (DuWayne) Barkema of Cedar Falls, and Shelly (Rick) Koenig of Chicago, IL; and grandnieces, Ashley Barkema of Chicago, IL and Danielle Barkema of Ames, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John, brother, Gordon Guldberg, and a brother-in-law, Otis Dodge.

Graveside services will be held 12 p.m. Friday, March 12, at Fairview Cemetery in Dows, Iowa. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 pm Thursday at Iles Funeral Homes-Westover Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 3010 – 52nd St., Des Moines, Iowa 50310.
