Mrs. Ole Fossel of Pickettsville, Illinois dies of lockjaw as result of scratching finger on barbwire - Funeral last Saturday. The death of Mrs. Ole Fossel occurred last Thursday morning at 7 o'clock at her home in Pickettsville about ten miles southwest of Paxton. About two weeks before her death she received a scratch on one of her fingers from a barb wire, and shortly after blood poisoning set in. Her case failed to respond to medical treatment and lockjaw developed, causing her death. The funeral was held last Saturday afternoon. A brief service was held at the home about 1 o'clock, Rev. J. W. Waltz of Ludlow reading the 90th Psalm and offering prayer. The choir from the Norwegian Lutheran Church, southeast of Elliot, sang three selections. The funeral party proceeded to the church where at 2 o'clock the funeral service proper was held, Rev. J Lonne, pastor of the deceased, officiating. Rev. Lonne read as a scripture lesson I. Cor. 15. The sermon was based on the text, John 11:25-26, "Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection and the life; he that believeth in me shall never die. Believeth thou this"? The church choir sang three selections during the service.
