Jean (Mauch) Rickey, M.D., was born Jan. 29, 1935, to Charles I. and Alma (Koonce) Mauch in Sapulpa, Okla., passed away Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 27, 2010, at the University of Arkansas for Medical Science in Little Rock after a battle with cancer. She was a 1953 graduate of Sapulpa High School and a graduate from the Oklahoma University Medical School in Oklahoma City in 1967. She was an intern in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she met and married her husband, Lowell V. Rickey, on Aug. 31, 1967. She was in family practice for about 30 years practicing in Belmond, Iowa, and Lake City, Iowa, at the McCrary-Rost Clinic and then in solo practice at Glidden, Iowa, before moving with her husband, Lowell, to Russellville to retire. She practiced at Millard-Henry satellite clinic in Dover for a few years prior to her retirement in Russellville.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Lowell, of the home in Russellville; stepdaughter, Rhonda Sondgeroth and husband, Gary, of Ames, Iowa; stepdaughter, Sherry Rickey of Hawaii; four grandsons and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters, Wilma Donaldson, Sara True, Clara Miller and Glenna Howard, all of Sapulpa, and twin sister, Jane Mauch of Russellville; also brothers, Karl Mauch and wife, Pat, Bill Mauch and wife, Helen, and Fred Mauch of Sapulpa. She was also survived by several nieces and nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Alma Mauch, and brother, Clyde Andrew Mauch.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, at the Green Hill Funeral Home in Sapulpa. Graveside service will at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, in the Green Hill Chapel in Sapulpa with Gary Radtke, minister officiating. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
