Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church Sunday p.m. for Mrs. Donald Sinclair with Rev. McDowell in charge. Mrs. Sinclair died at her home in West Bend Friday 29 April after an illness of about 3 weeks. Interment was made at the West Bend Cemetery.
Maude Elva Acheson daughter of David and Margaret Acheson was born on the family homestead west of West Bend, 8 Nov 1880. At an early age she learned the printers trade in West Bend. When the family moved to Belmond she continued her profession in the office of Walter & Wallace Ramsey. She also worked in Pocahontas and then spent several years with editor Moffet in Grundy Cntr. While living there she united with the Methodist Epis. Church. While at Mandan ND she united in marriage with Ernest Houghton, who died in France 1918. She continued her profession in Montevideo MN until the spring of 1925 when she came to her present home where she donated 6 years of faithful care to her invalid & bedrest mother, who passed away 4 March 1931. On May 13, 1931 she was united in marriage to Donald B. Sinclair of Pocahontas, the ceremony being performed at Storm Lake.
Mrs Sinclair is survived by her husband; two daughters, Florence of Chicago and Phyllis of Palma; two brothers William Acheson of Kent, WA and George Acheson of Pollock SD; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Bookman and Mrs George Boyd of Pocahontas; several nieces & nephews; other relatives and friends.
