ALGONA — A funeral service for Phyllis Agnes Burlingame will be held at the Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home in Algona on Saturday, Jan. 23, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Mark E. Holmer officiating. Interment will follow at the East Lawn Cemetery in Algona.

Phyllis Agnes Burlingame was born July 25, 1934, at Alden, to Lyle and Helen (Peterson) Christopher. She attended school in Dows. On Dec. 19, 1953, Phyllis was united in marriage to Glen Burlingame in Algona. Phyllis worked at the Super 8 Motel as well as the Phillip Court Apartments where she was manager of the housekeeping department. She enjoyed reading and working puzzle books. Phyllis died at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010, at the age of 75.

Survivors include her brothers and sisters, Lyle (Sonny) Christopher of Algona; Vila Armstrong of Algona; Judith Ann Eisenbacher of Algona; Betty Lou and husband Franklin Copp of Eagle Grove; Orville Christopher and wife Ella of Pensacola, Fla.; Gerald Christopher and wife Melanie of West Branch; Larry Christopher and wife Patty of Omaha, Neb.; Mary Schulz of Whittemore, and Sherry Lee and husband Jim Fletcher of Corwith, as well as many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Glen on April 27, 1998. Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home in Algona in charge of arrangements.
