Fort Dodge Messenger, IowaHUMBOLDT - Mary Yolande Fuller, 96, of Humboldt formerly of Bradgate, passed away January 14, 2010 at the Humboldt Care Center North. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, in the chapel of the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. Interment will be in Marble Valley Cemetery, Gilmore City. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Fuller is survived by her children, Charles (Susan) Fuller of Rockford, IL, Dennis (Rachel) Fuller of Humboldt, Richard (Norma) Fuller of Clive, Ronald (Linda) Fuller of Ft. Meyer, FL, and Mary Diane (Doug) Lanning of Gilmore City; 13 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Morris; sisters, Clovis Christianson and Jeanine Peterson; and brothers, Edward and Lyle Peterson.
Mary Yolande Fuller, the daughter of Carl and Effie (Brooks) Peterson, was born January 2, 1914 in Hamilton County, Iowa. As a child, she moved with her family to Stanhope where she received her education. Following her graduation from Stanhope High School, Yolande worked as a telephone operator. She was united in marriage to Morris Fuller in 1934 and the couple made their home at Eagle Grove where Morris operated a custom trucking business. During World War II, Morris served in the United States Navy. Following his honorable discharge in 1946, the Fuller's moved to the family farm near Bradgate where they operated their farming operations. In 1979, they built their new home in Bradgate and moved off the farm. Mr. Fuller passed away in 1983 and Yolande continued to maintain her home until moving to Humboldt in 2001. Yolande was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church where she was active in the UMW in Bradgate and taught Sunday School for 25 years. She served as Past President of the PTA, and was a member of the Rebecca's, the Bradgate Progress Club and 500 Club and had served as a 4-H leader. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Humboldt County and the Faith United Methodist Church.
