Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hampton. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Tuesday at the Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton. Burial will be in the Hampton Cemetery. Rev. Karl Bollhagen will officiate.

Doris Marie Hansen, 76, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away April 25, 2009, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. She was born February 1, 1933, in Hebron, Nebraska, to Fredrick Christian and Amanda Anna Louise (Pohlmann) Gerfen. Doris graduated from Hansell High School in 1950. She was married to Paul Joseph Hansen in Clarion, Iowa, on August 31, 1952. Doris retired from Maytag after several years and she was also a homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, baking pies, gardening, crafts, card playing and being a spectator of any of her children or grandchildren's activities. Doris also enjoyed spending her last several winters in Texas. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, LWML, Martha Circle and the Good Luck Club.

Doris is survived by her husband Paul Hansen of Hampton, children Debra Hansen of DeWitt, Iowa, Kim (Brad) Mulford of Sheffield, Bart (Diana) Hansen of Hampton & Scott Hansen of Northwood, sister Clara Lichtenberg of Royal Oak, Michigan, grandchildren Keely (Devin) Schwiesow, Kyle (KariAn) Mulford, Paul Mulford, Eric, Blake, Sarah, Ben, Haley & Cole Hansen and great grandchildren Kennedy, Jayce, Carter & Landon. She was preceded in death by her parents Fredrick and Amanda (Pohlmann) Gerfen.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society, Lutheran Hour or MS Foundation.
