NEWLY FOUND RIFLE HELD IN SON'S HANDS DEALS DEATH
While observing his son who was examining a recently found automatic rifle in front of his home, four miles east of Capital Hill Sunday morning, John Pearl, 73 years old was shot through the right leg, near the knee, when the weapon was accidentally exploded. Hastened by the infirmities of age, excitement and suffering, death came at 4:30 o'clock yesterday morning. Mr. Pearl was a member of Grant Post No. 1, G.A.R. of Oklahoma City, and had been a resident of this vicinity for a number of years. He is survived by a wife and several children. Funeral services will be conducted at the residence, under direction of the G.A.R. next Wednesday afternoon.
