KANAWHA, IA — John Nikkel, 77, of Kanawha, died Monday (Dec. 1, 1997) at the Clarion Community Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Kanawha Christian Reformed Church with the Rev. G. David Daley officiating. Burial will be in Amsterdam Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 today at Ewing Dugger Funeral Home and one hour prior to church services on Thursday.

John Nikkel was born March 28, 1920, in Sully. Survivors include his wife, Edith Nikkel of Kanawha; two daughters, Kris Lehman of Clarion, and Julie Marshall of Cedar Rapids; two sons, Doug of Clarion, and Jim of Santa Rosa, Calif.; one sister, Minnie DeJong of Pella; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and two sisters.
