March 25, 1997BELMOND, IA -- Mary M. Faulhaber, 92, of Belmond, died Monday (March 24, 1997) at the Belmond Community Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Ken Fineran officiating. Burial will be in the Immanuel Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Tenold Funeral Home, and one hour prior to services at the church.
Mary Martha (Riekens) Faulhaber, the daughter of Aielt and Martha (DeBerg) Riekens, was born on a farm east of Belmond on Thursday, June 23, 1904. She attended country school through the eighth grade and was united in marriage to Porter Faulhaber on Jan. 26, 1927, at the Immanuel Reformed Church in Belmond. They farmed their entire life, and Mary enjoyed crocheting, playing cards and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Belmond, the United Methodist Women and was active in the Goodwill program.
Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy may direct memorials to the Mary Faulhaber Memorial Fund. She is survived by nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Porter; brothers, Herman and Henry; sisters, Ella, Lottie, Nellie, Jennie and Minnie.
