GOLDFIELD - Paul Siemens, the son of Bert J. and Jeanette L. (McCarty) Siemens, was born December 23, 1928, on the family farm in Goldfield, Iowa. He was raised and educated in the area of his birth, graduating from Renwick High School in 1946. Paul served in the United States Army, stationed in Germany, from 1951 to 1953. On September 9, 1960, Paul was united in marriage with Ruth Miller, at the Christian Church in Grinnell, Iowa. The couple made their home on the family farm in Goldfield, where Paul lived his entire life and engaged in farming. Paul was a member of Park Church of Christ in Goldfield; serving as an elder, deacon, Sunday school superintendent, teacher, treasurer and camp trustee. He was also a member of the Goldfield American Legion, Antique Tractor Club and former member of the Iowa Pork Producers. Paul was an avid hunter, fisherman and during retirement he spent time restoring antique tractors.

Paul passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2009, at his home, at the age of 80 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Albert and Dr. John Siemens and sister, Maybelle Hebner. Survivors include his wife, Ruth of Goldfield; three children: Marcia (John) Puckett of Tucson, AZ, Paula (Steve) Sams of Charleston, S.C. and Scott Siemens of Houston, TX; 6 grandchildren: Lance, Logan, Travis and Tyler Puckett and Michael and Matthew Sams; sister, Phyllis (Don) Silver of Fort Dodge; brothers, Frank (Ellen) Siemens of Renwick and Roger (Rita) Siemens of Silver Star, MT and sister-in-law, Marilyn Siemens of Steilacoom, WA.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 14, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at the Foust Funeral Home in Goldfield with Pastor Robert Dishman officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Foust Funeral Home in Goldfield. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Goldfield. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
