George William Pressler was born in Duncombe, Iowa. The son of William James Presler and Lizzie Francis (Plucar) Presler. George entered the Army in Dec. 28, 1942 re-enlisted in the Air Force and was discharged on April 30, 1951. He married Agnes Jeanette Lindaas on November 15, 1941 in Unionville, Missouri. They had 6 children born, 1 died in infancy. Sharon Ann, Raymond William, Kenneth Duane, Bruce Allan, Sheryl Kay and Rodney Dean.

George William Pressler was born Feb. 17, 1922, at Duncombe, Iowa, the son of William and Lizzie Plucar Presler. He attended school at Duncombe. He was united in marriage to Agnes Lindaas of Eagle Grove on November 15, 1941, at Unionville, Mo. The couple made their home on a farm near Woolstock for a time, and George worked at the Lehigh Tile Plant after leaving the farm. He entered the U. S. Army on December 28, 1942 at Camp Dodge, Iowa, and served for six years, with service in Normandy, Northern France, and Central Europe. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1948, and was retired because of disability in 1951. He returned to Eagle Grove and was employed by Coast-to-Coast Stores, Oldson Plumbing and Heating, Propane Gas Co., Larsen Plumbing and Heating, Wood Brothers Electric, Brauman Refrigeration and the City of Eagle Grove.

In failing health for some time, George passed away at the Veterans Hospital, Des Moines, Iowa, on Sunday December 1, at the age of 52 years, nine months, and 14 days. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. William Presler, Baxter; his wife, Agnes; four sons, Raymond Presler, Eagle Grove, Kenneth Presler, St. Louis, Mo., Bruce Presler, Muscatine, Rodney Presler, Eagle Grove; one daughter, Miss Sheryl Presler, Takoma Park, Md.,. two brothers, Clayton Presler, Gilmore City and Francis Presler, Long Prairie, Minn.; five sisters, Mrs. Bernice Schiltz, living in Wisconsin; Mrs. Clarence Carlisle, Des Moines; Mrs. Ida Cox, Colfax; Mrs. Dorothy Mimbach, Coon Rapids, Minn.; Miss Anna Presler, Des Moines; and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by his father, one brother and one daughter, Sharon.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 4, at the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Eagle Grove. Pastor W. E. Carlson officiated and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
