Lois Ann Kopp, 79, of Fort Dodge, died Sunday, November 29, 2009 at the Fort Dodge Villa Care Center. Services will be 10:30 AM Thursday at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Patricia Youngquist of the Epworth United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 PM Wednesday at the Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge.

Lois is survived by her husband, Richard; two sons, Mike and Shelley Kopp of Fort Dodge and Tom and Tien Kopp of Des Moines; two grandchildren Courtney and Kyle Kopp and one great grandson Austin; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Bill and Leah Boyd Brophy; her two brothers Ray and Bud Brophy; and her two sisters, Ella May Angle and Evelyn Olsieski.

Lois Ann Brophy was born October 7, 1930 in Algona, Iowa and grew up on her parent's farm near Hardy, Iowa. In 1949, she graduated from Renwick High School. After high school Lois moved to Fort Dodge and married Richard Kopp on December 1, 1950 in Fort Dodge. She work with her husband in his floor covering business but she was first a homemaker and mother to her family. Today would be their 59th wedding anniversary. She was easy going and liked to do many things, housework, cooking, gardening, and lots of fun things, like going to Auctions with her husband. They enjoyed collecting old books, dolls, and Fort Dodge memorabilia. Lois was busy all the time; she loved to help Dick with all of his projects. She worked at Friendship Haven for about 15 years in the dietary department until her stroke in 2004. Anybody that knew her, loved her, and all will miss her very much. Lois was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church in Fort Dodge. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
