J.M. Montgomery, 72, Wright Pioneer, Dies in Home at Goldfield

Goldfield, July 3-John M. Montgomery, 72, a pioneer of this vicinity, died at his home here on Tuesday evening. Mr. Montgomery was a lifelong resident of this vicinity, having been born on a farm five miles north of town, where he lived until 25 years ago.

He had been a leader in building up the community and had held numerous offices while a resident here.

He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Vera Cunningham of Storm Lake, and Mrs. Mary Pride of Ames, besides numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the house Thursday afternoon with the Rev. R.M. McCracken, pastor of U.P. church in charge. The local Masons had charge of services at the cemetery.
