Boyd A. Coulson, 50, of Eau Claire, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009, at his home. He was born in Minneapolis on Aug. 28, 1959, the son of William and Lorraine (DeWall) Coulson. Boyd graduated from Superior Senior High School in 1977. He then went on to attend the University of Wisconsin-Superior, earning a bachelors degree in criminal justice. Boyd loved riding his motorcycle. He would take many trips to other states visiting family and friends. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed cooking, dogs, and participated in many church activities while growing up in Superior. He worked for several years in medical transport where he really enjoyed helping and working with his clients.

He is survived by his parents; two brothers, Brian (Linda) Coulson of Prior Lake, Minn., Bruce (Mimi) Coulson of Houston, Texas; a sister, Marcia (David) Vining of Ignacio, Colo.; Brian's children, Robert, Shannon, and Ryan; Marcia's children, Andrew, Devin, Sarah, and Jamie; and many other relatives and friends. Boyd was preceded in death by his grandparents, aunts, and uncles.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, with Pastor Jim McKay and Nate Oldenkamp officiating. Visitation will be held from noon until time the 2 p.m. service. A private family burial will be held in Belmond, Iowa, at a later date. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family.
