DOWS - Diann J. Bonjour, 55, of Dows passed away Monday (Sept. 21, 2009) at the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond. Funeral services for Diann J. Bonjour will be at 1:3o p.m. today, Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009, at the First Lutheran Church in Dows with Pastor Bob Edwards officiating. Burial will take place in the Hansell Cemetery near Hansell. Visitation for Diann J. Bonjour was held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009, at the Dugger Funeral Home, 100 N. Lee St. in Dows, and will continue one hour prior to services today at the church.
Diann Jean, the daughter of James and Beverly Niber Thomas, was born July 31, 1954, in Mason City. She grew up in the Mason City and Clear Lake area where she attended school. Diann graduated from Mason City High School in 1972. She worked for a time as a nurse's assistant at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Mason City but worked the majority of her life in manufacturing factories. Most recently Diann had been working at Eaton in Belmond. Diann was united in marriage to Wade Bonjour on July 27, 1996. The couple made their home in Dows. Diann enjoyed quilting, crocheting and crafts. She raised Pomeranian dogs. Diann was an avid photographer and loved researching genealogy. Walking through cemeteries with Wade was just one of her many pastimes. Diann was most fond of spending time with her three grandchildren.
Diann was an active member of the Franklin County Genealogical Society and devoted member of the First Lutheran Church in Dows.
Diann is survived by her husband, Wade; sons, Paul [Anderson] of Stanhope: Richard [Anderson] and Robin of Marshalltown: Jamie [Anderson] and wife Jennifer of Cummings; three grandchildren, Emma, Grace and Christian; mother, Beverly Thomas of Mason City; three sisters, Carol [Pannhoff], Sharon [Peterson] and Linda [Percy]; five brothers, James, Robert, Jerry, Gary and Tim; and numerous other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, maternal and paternal grandparents and a nephew, Brandon Thomas. Dugger Funeral Home.
