Curtis Lynn Halverson, age 50, most recently of Fort Dodge, IA, a native of the Belmond, IA, and formerly of Orange City, IA, died, Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at his home in Fort Dodge, IA. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, August 17, 2009, at the St. Olaf Lutheran Church west of Belmond, IA. The Reverend James Harbaugh will be officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of the funeral on Monday morning at the church. Interment will be in the St. Olaf Lutheran Church Cemetery. Those wishing to express their sympathies through a memorial in Curt's name may wish to consider the St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Hospice of North Iowa, or to their own choice.

Curtis was born in Iowa. As a young man he attended Belmond, Iowa schools. He later went on to work for periods of time at his uncle and aunt's laundry business, "Meint's Laundry" in Belmond. Curt had also been employed at EDS Corporation in Clarion, IA. Through out his life, Curt's philosophy was to go with the flow. He was usually easy going and took things for what they were. Many who knew him well will remember his famous saying when they inquired about how things were going, Curt would smoothly respond, "Everything is Excellent!" He had a unique personality and a captivating and jolly laugh that was all his own. Curt was brilliant with numbers and mathematical problems. He had enjoyed doing macrame and wire art. In addition to living at Fort Dodge for the past five years, he had resided in Orange City and Duncan heights for a number of years after growing up in Belmond.

Curt's life will be remembered in the lives of his brother, Leslie and his wife Kathleen Halverson, 34133 N.E. Winterbook Way, Battle Ground, WA 98604,; his sister, Mary Kay Wilham and her husband, Bruce of 104 Zimmerman Road, Jamestown, KY 42629; his nephews and niece and great nephews and nieces: Nicholas Halverson and his wife Jennifer, Nashville, TN, Nicholas Gray and Lucas James Halverson; Adam Halverson, Kristin Halverson, and Emily Halverson, all of Battle Ground, WA, and Amanda Russel and her husband Sammy Joe, Jamestown, KY,; also his step mother, Shirley Halverson, Belmond, IA; his god parents and uncle and aunt, Glenn and Jan Meints, Belmond, IA; aunts, uncles, and friends. Curt was preceded in death by his parents, Garfield "Gus" and Esther Halverson, Bill and Tillie Meints, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Andrews Funeral Home, Belmond, IA.
