Donna Marie (Odland) Underwood, 70, of Overland Park, KS, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2002, at her home. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, June 9, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 9101 Lamar, Overland Park, KS 66207. Visitation will be 2-3 p.m. Sunday, at the church prior to the service. A second service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 10, at First Lutheran Church in Dows, IA. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Burial in Otis Grove Cemetery, Dows, IA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Bethany Lutheran Church Foundation/Day School Scholarship Fund or to Kansas City Hospice, 12006 W. 87th St. Parkway, Lenexa, KS 66215.

Donna was born April 16, 1932 in Clarion, IA, to Clarence and Lola Odland. She was raised on a farm in Dows, IA. Donna attended college at Iowa State in Ames, IA and graduated as a Medical Technologist. Upon graduation she worked as a medical technologist for the University of Nebraska Hospital in Omaha, NE. She married Dennis Underwood on August 4, 1956 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Omaha, NE. To this marriage were born four children, John, Brian, Doug and Jeanne. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, eight uncles and six aunts. Survivors include her husband, Dennis Underwood; sons, John Underwood and his wife, Denise, Omaha, NE, Brian Underwood and his wife, Ronda, Greeley, CO, and Doug Underwood and his wife, Tammy, Detroit, MI; daughter, Jeanne Underwood, Overland Park, KS; nine grandchildren; sister-in-law and brotherin-law, Judy and Bill Peterson, Overland Park, KS; brother-in-law, Jim Underwood, Fredericksburg, VA; aunt and uncle, Irvin and Mable Odland; one nephew, three nieces and many cousins.
