Varick Dingman, 83, Fort Dodge, died Monday at Trinity Regional Hospital. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Bruce's Funeral Home with the Rev. David Miller of Riverview Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery in Lehigh. Visitation is from 4-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Survivors include his wife, Bessie; son, Floyd, Kansas City, Mo.; daughters, Joann Waller, Fort Dodge, Roxanne Rosenau, Fort Dodge, and Mary Noffke, Webster City; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Vesta Yoder, Woolstock, Norma Farrell, Spirit Lake, Alma Townsend, Fort Dodge, and Ferdelle Wood, Des Moines.

Varick Dingman was born Sept. 28, 1907 in Homer. He married Bessie Richardson in 1929 in Lehigh. He served in the European theater during World War II. He worked for National Gypsum, retiring in 1970. He was a member of the Riverview Baptist Church, and the DAV.
