Bettimae Mamminga, 81, of Story City, died Sunday, February 1, 2009 at the Bethany Life Community in Story City. Mrs. Mamminga’s wishes were to be cremated. Private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements were made with the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.
Bettimae Arbaugh, daughter of Raymond and Helen Monroe Arbaugh, was born March 28, 1927 at Woolstock. She graduated from Lincoln High at Webster City in 1944 and attended Iowa State Teachers College (UNI). On December 1, 1946, she married Milton (Mike) Mamminga at the Little Brown Church at Nashua. The couple farmed in the Webster City area. She was employed at the Fort Dodge Laboratories for over 20 years. Mr. Mamminga died September 2, 1997. She had resided at Bethany Life Community since March 31, 2008. Bettimae is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Patricia Mamminga of Des Moines; grandchildren, Matthew and Jodi Mamminga; Jason Mamminga; Adam and Angela Mamminga; four great-grandchildren; sister, Elaine Munson of Kamrar; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Wayne Arbaugh and a host of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
