Charlotte, the daughter of John and Hazel Oscarson Rokke, was born on July 31, 1940, in Belmond. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Olaf Lutheran Church. She attended rural schools and graduated from Belmond High School in 1958.
Charlotte went on to graduate from Waldorf College in 1960. She was employed at the Belmond Community Hospital until 1970, when she moved to Cedar Rapids, where she was employed by St. Luke's Hospital. Charlotte and Paul J. Wright were married Sept. 22, 1974, at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. Both Charlotte and Paul have always been very active in their church, serving in many different positions and hosting Bible study groups in their home. Charlotte was also a member of the Sons of Norway and, together with Paul and her parents, had visited aunts and uncles in Norway in 1982. Charlotte retired in 1998 and the couple moved to Clarksvile, Tenn., in 2000. Charlotte was born with Glandzmann's thrombasthenia purpura, a platelet deficiency, that required her to have many hundreds of units of blood products throughout her lifetime. Many people from the Belmond area donated blood directly to Charlotte in her younger years. Today various blood banks and the American Red Cross have supplied the blood and platelets that Charlotte has needed.

Survivors include her husband, Paul J.; her father and stepmother, John and Arlet Rokke of Belmond; two brothers, Paul Rokke and wife Charlotta of Belmond and the Rev. J. Douglas Rokke and wife Randi Jo of La Porte City; two stepbrothers, Curtis Nelson and wife Dale of Grandview, Mo., and Byron Nelson and wife Sue of Evans, Ga.; a brother-in-law, Neal Wright and wife Myra of Girard, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Evalyn Godfrey and husband Ray of Clarksville, Tenn.; nine nieces and nephews; and four great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Hazel, in 1988.
