LATIMER, IA - David Nolan Colglazier, 44, of Latimer, passed away Friday (July 3, 2009) in rural Franklin County. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Hampton. The Rev. Jan S. Ekstedt will officiate the service. Burial will be in the Hampton Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton.

David Nolan Colglazier was born on July 20, 1964, in Belmond to Faye and Priscilla "Penny" (Olthoff) Colglazier. David graduated from CAL High School in Latimer and later from Hawkeye Tech in Waterloo. He was united in marriage to Autumn Hawver on Sept. 2, 1995, in Hampton. David "Colzy" was involved in many activities. He loved the Franklin County Fair, where he was a board member from 2002 until 2009. David was president of the Cub Cadet Childhood Center in Latimer. He enjoyed snowmobiling with the Franklin County Snowmobile Association. David was everyone's friend. Most important to him were his boys and family. His first love was farming and his second love was flying. David died a happy man. He was also a member of the AOPA and First Christian Church in Hampton.

David is survived by his wife, Autumn Colglazier, of Latimer; sons, Burke and Logan Colglazier of Latimer; father, Faye (Jacquie) Colglazier, of Hampton; mother, Penny Finneman, of Mason City; sister, Judy (David) Ratzlaff, of Rockwell, sister Sherry Colglazier of Burt; niece and nephew, Autumn and Joshua, of Rockwell, nephew, Clint Janssen, of Mason City; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; brother, Allan Colglazier, step-father, Howard Finneman; and nephew, Daren Taylor. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Cub Cadet Childhood Center in Latimer. Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home.
