May 5, 1898Edward Karl, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Yeoman, was born at Des Moines, Iowa, August 16, 1895 and died in Renwick, April 29,1898. Death was caused by the measles which later on developed into pneumonia. He was sick only ten days. The funeral was held at the house last Sunday, conducted by W. H. Foley, who took for his text the words found in Isaiah 40:11: "He shall feed his flock like a shepherd he shall gather the lambs with his arms, and carry them in his bosom." Interment took place in Vernon cemetery. Little Eddie was baptized in the Evangelical church May, 25, 1896. In their time of sorrow Mr. Yeoman and family have the kindest sympathy of this entire community.
May the great Comforter, the ruler of the Universe, who doeth all things well, be with them and comfort them. And so he is dead! Dead in the freshness and mirth of his childhood, Dead, like a beautiful flower in the wildwood where careless feet tread. His smiles we shall miss as though some sweet morning the sunlight should fail; We shall yearn in the night with a passionate wail for his lingering kiss. His childlike sweet voice no more with its prattle shall lighten our woe. His sweet little feet shall not run to and fro in the paths of his choice.
