ca. December 1943James Franklin Shehorn, son of George and Emijine Shehorn was born near Johnsonville, Illinois, February 4, 1867. Died December 12th, 1943 at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. R.G. Kautz near Rinard, Illinois. He lived most of his life in and near Johnsonville and Rinard, except for a few years in Misouri. His life span had reached 76 years, 10 months, and 8 days. He was first married to Mary A. Barnes July 17, 1890. She passed away March 17, 1895. Two sons were born to this union. Issac who died September 22, 1894 and Roy living at Webster City, Iowa. He was married to Mary A. Leathers December 25, 1898. Two sons and three daughters were born born to this union. Russell of Eagle Grove, Iowa, Wesley of Riverside, California, Bertha Kautz of Rinard, Illinois, Gertrude and Beulah who departed this life in 1922. This wife died February 14, 1937. He leaves two brothers, John Shehorn of Rinard, Illinois; Abraham Shehorn of Dexter, Missouri.; two sisters, Martha Simms of Pana, Ill., Belle Boyt of Dexter, Missouri. He leaves eight grandchildren, a number of nephews and nieces, many other relatives and friends, all of which mourn his passing. He was a kind and loving father, always ready to lend a helping hand or speak words of encouragement and comfort to those in need. He lived a Christian life, taking his Bible for his guide and teacher. Was happiest when studying his Bible, or or telling the good things Jehova has in store for his people. He was one of Jehovah's faithful followers, never losing faith in his promises. Funeral services were held at the home of his daughter, Mrs. R.G. Kautz Tuesday, December a4, at 1 P.M. Interment at Bunker Cemetery.
