Eagle Grove, IA - Wilbur Quentin Guile, 83, died Oct. 12 at the Rotary Ann Nursing Home in Eagle Grove. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove, with Rev. Omar Pettersen officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the National Cemetery [Fort Snelling] at St. Paul, Minn. There will be no visitation as his body was donated to science. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie; sons, Raymond, Moreno Valley, Calif. and Wilbur Jr. Indiana, Penn.; daughter, Gayla Hachenberger, Woodland Hills, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Elizabeth Guile; sister, Grace Sonksen; and grandson Tod Hachenberger.

Wilbur Quentin Guile was born June 7, 1910 in Portland Oregon, and attended schools in Hurley, NM and Santa Monica, Calif. After graduating from Santa Monica High School in 1931, he was employed as a meat cutter with Safeway Foods, Inc., at Santa Monica. In 1942, he entered the United States Navy at Santa Monica, Calif. Before his discharge on Nov. 7, 1945, at Great Lakes,
Ill., he had earned the rank of ship's cook first class. He married Marjorie Thompson of Eagle Grove in 1944, at San Francisco, Calif. They lived in California for six years before moving to Prescott, Ariz. where they resided for 23 years. In 1972, they moved to Eagle Grove. He had worked as a manager of the meat department for Safeway Foods and had operated his own business.
He was a member of the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Senior Citizens.
