EAGLE GROVE - Maudie Florence Hutchinson, the daughter of Joe and Edna (Rose) Johnson, was born March 5, 1910, at Radcliffe, Iowa. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth. Maudie married Elmer Hutchinson on January 11, 1928 in Webster City, Iowa. The couple farmed near Alden for a few years, then near Geneva for 14 years. In 1959, they moved to Eagle Grove. Maudie worked for Al Jacobsen Construction cleaning the homes. She had a green thumb, having many beautiful vegetable and flower gardens and canned fruits and vegetables each year.

Maudie passed away Friday, June 5, 2009, at Southfield Wellness Community in Webster City, Iowa, at the age of 99 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Edna; husband, Elmer; son, Gordon and her daughter, Mary Lou Willis. She is survived by 14 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, 26 great great grandchildren, 9 brothers and 11 sisters.

Funeral services will be Friday, June 12, 2009, at United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Mike Agnew officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
