Mrs. Derscheid Dies; Funeral to Be Saturday

EAGLE GROVE—Funeral services for Mrs. George Derscheid, 82, will be held Saturday at the Methodist Church at 2 p.m. with the Rev Roy Cox officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. The Kastler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Derscheid died on Wednesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. James Abbott, after a lingering illness. She is survived by three daughters, Grace, Washington, D.C.; Mrs. George (Bessie) McVicker, Kenyon, Minn., and Mrs. James (Lucille) Abbott, Eagle Grove, and one son, Maurice, Kenyon, Minn.; 17 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1937, two sons, John and Harold in 1927, and one grandson. She was a member of the ho Methodist Church. She also belonged to the Order of Eastern Star. Mrs. Derscheid, the former Lois Emerick, was born on a farm south of Eagle Grove on Jan. 7, 1875.
