Nancy Greeley, 63, of Riceville, IA, died Monday, September 15, 2008 at Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage, IA; after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 19, 2008 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Riceville with burial in Wayne Cemetery at McIntire. Rev. Ray E. Atwood will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Conway Funeral Home in Riceville.

Nancy Ann Greeley was born on November 4, 1944 at Goldfield, Iowa, the daughter of James F. and Stella (Wilder) Keeton. As a small girl they moved to the Riceville area where she attended Oakdale #6 country school, attended LeRoy High School and graduated from Riceville High School. Following her education, she worked at the Iowa Odd Fellows Home in Mason City, IA. Nancy then married James Greeley on February 19, 1966 in Norfolk, Virginia. With Jim being in the Navy, Nancy and family moved around a lot, and she would come home to live with her mother when Jim would go out to sea. They returned to Riceville to live in 1986, then Nancy started working at Fox River Mills in Osage for 16 years until she had to stop working due to her health. Nancy enjoyed reading and watching the food network and then trying out the recipes she saw. When things weren't going the way she thought they should, she would go shopping with her sisters. She enjoyed collecting porcelain dolls, Elvis and Coca-Cola memorabilia. Mostly, Nancy enjoyed family and holiday get-togethers where she could spend time with her grandchildren.

Nancy is survived by her four children: Steve Greeley of Riceville, IA; Scott Greeley of Nashua, IA; William Greeley of Riceville, IA; and Stella Greeley of Riceville, IA; five grandchildren: Nickolaus Greeley; Christophere Greeley; Rayge Greeley; Andrew Greeley; and Shayla Greeley; five sisters, Ruth (Everett) Beals of Chariton, IA; Carolyn (Larry) Bliven of Rudolph, WI; Judy (Ken) Portis of Riceville, IA; Lois (Albert) Winkels of McIntire, IA; Ruby Losee of Riceville, IA; and four brothers: Jim (Mary) Keeton of Norfolk, VA; Dave Keeton of Stacyville, IA; Ed Keeton of Panama City, FL; and Marshall Keeton of Riceville, IA; her mother-in-law Gladys Jacobus, and brother-in-laws: John (Bev) Greeley and Richard (Dawn) Greeley and many nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James on November 28, 2005; her father-in-law: William Greeley, sister-in-law: Shirley Keeton and brother-in-law: Jewell Losee.
