Mason City- Marcele LaVon Dahlstrom 81, of 706 6th Street N.W. died Tuesday June 21, 2005, at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City. A private inurnment service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be no visitation or memorial service. Memorials may be directed to the bird aviary at Good Shepherd Care Center, Mason City, or the Humane Society.

Marcele was born December 5, 1923, in rural Hancock County the daughter of Nels and Emma (Ebert) Back. She graduated from Goodell High School in 1940 and Hamilton Business College in 1941. Marcele was united in marriage to Francis Dahlstrom on October 11, 1942 in Mason City; to this union two children were born. Marcele and Francis shared 51 years of marriage and 54 birthdays together because they both shared December 5th birthdays. Marcele worked at her hometown bank of Goodell State Savings Bank, while Francis served in World War II. She retired from the Globe Gazette accounting department on May 1, 1987. Marcele was an avid Hallmark ornament collector and lover of the many cats who owned her, bur her greatest pride was her family and her biggest joy was her grandson, Sean.

She is survived by her children Jeffrey Dahlstrom, of Mason City, and Celane and her husband Mark Vasey, of West Des Moines, and her grandson Sean Vasey, of West Des Moines. She is preceded in death by her mother in 1952, her father 1968, and her husband in 1994. Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel;
