BRAIDWOOD, Illinois - Visitation for Beverley L. Craig, 53, of Braidwood, will be from 11 a.m. Tuesday until the time of services at 1 p.m. at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Ltd., Braidwood Chapel. The Rev. Dan Sullivan will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello, Iowa. The Rev. Al Polito will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello, Iowa. Pallbearers will be Ronnie and Roger Craig, Kerry and Stacey Harris, Ralph May, Natalie, Nicole, and Janelle Craig. Memorials may be made to the Friends of the Fossil Ridge Public Library or the Braidwood Fire Department.

Mrs. Craig died Friday (April 3, 1998) due to injuries suffered in an automobile accident. Mrs. Craig was employed at the Fossil Ridge Public Library in Braidwood for approximately 14 years. She was a member of the Will- Grundy Genealogical Society, the Women of the Moose, the IA Genealogical Society, the Friends of the Fossil Ridge Public Library, and the Bunco Babes. She was born May 30, 1944, in Dows, Iowa. Her husband, Samuel Lynwood Craig, whom she married June 13, 1965 at the Methodist Church in Dows, Iowa, died Nov. 13, 1997. Surviving are two daughters and one son-in-law, Chandra Craig of Wilmington, Amy and Carl Giles of Braidwood; her mother, Helen Harris Hilpipre of Webster City, Iowa; one brother, Kerry Harris of Lincoln, Neb.; and nieces and nephews. Deceased are her father, Earnest Harris Jr.; and her step-father, Alvin Hilpipre. She enjoyed genealogy, crafts, ceramics, reading, collecting bells and angels, and Bunco.
