Mildred Cunningham, 89, of Webster City, died Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at Crestview Senior Living at Webster City. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Asbury United Methodist Church at Webster City, with Rev. Ryan Christenson officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery at Sioux City at 3:00 p.m. Saturday. Visitation will be at the Foster Chapel from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday and at the church after 8:30 a.m. Saturday.

Mildred Viola Astor, daughter of George and Bertha Helfrich Astor was born May 15, 1918 at Sioux Falls, SD. She received her education in the Sioux Falls school system and also attended college for two years. She married Samuel Willard Cunningham at Sioux City. The couple resided at Rowan/Latimer, Garner, Sioux City, Dubuque, Webster City and Mason City. They retired and returned to Webster City. Mr. Cunningham died July 28, 2007. She had resided at Crestview since October of 2005.

Mrs. Cunningham is survived by daughter, Donna Cunningham and grandson, William Verburg Cunningham, both of St. Paul, MN; sister, Georgia Soule of Arnolds Park, IA; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; son, Gerald Cunningham; sister, Elizabeth Larue. She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church; was active in P.E.O. and was active in several Methodist Women’s organizations through out the couple’s career with the church.
