Ila Mae Jackson, 79, of Owasa, Iowa, passed away Monday, December 1, 2008, at Valley View Nursing and Rehad Center, Eldora, Iowa. Funeral service for Ila Mae Jackson will be 10:00 am Friday at the United Methodist Church, Eldora, Iowa, with Reverend Richard Boatman officiating. Burial will follow at the Berlin, Jackson Township Cemetery, Owasa, Iowa. A time of visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday at the United Methodist Church, Eldora. The Linn's Funeral Homes Iowa Falls chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Ila Mae Lambertsen was born October 21, 1929, to Lillian [Buge] and Anton Lambertsen. She had an older sister: Helene, and younger siblings: sister: Lucille; twins Albert and Althea; and brothers: Jim, Roland "Duffy" and John. Ila Mae graduated from Popejoy High School in 1948 and attended Hamilton Business College. She worked for a short time for the F. B. I. in both Los Angeles, California and Washington D. C. before returning home to work at the bank in Dows, Iowa. Mae was married to Dallas Jackson March 18, 1953, at her parents home near Coulter, Iowa. Mae and Dallas had three sons: Charles Anton born December 17, 1953; Hylton Dennis born June 15, 1955; and Wallen Ray born April 20, 1957. She was a doting mother and housewife on the family farm near Owasa, Iowa and took literally thousands of family pictures and movies. She had an enjoyable job at the Eldora Flower Shop for a number of years in the late 70's and from there went to work as a caregiver at the Hardin County Home for 12 years. She moved from the farm home to Eldora, Iowa, in 1995 and spent many school days doing volunteer work with the Kindergarten classes at E-NP where the kids all knew her as 'Gramma' Mae. She looked forward to church services at the Methodist and Congregational churches. Ila Mae went to reside at Valley View in Eldora in 2004 and continued to enjoy visits from E-NP students, friends, and family until her death on December 1, 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dallas, sisters Helene, Lucille, and Althea, and brothers James and Albert. She is survived by brothers: Roland and John; her three sons: Chuck and wife Bev of Owasa, Iowa, Hylton of Des Moines, Iowa, Wally and wife Carla of Coralville, Iowa; her grandchildren: Melinda Sue Moore and husband Charlie of Bradenton, Florida, Kyle Ray Jackson of Coralville, Iowa, Ryan Paul Jackson of Iowa City, Iowa, Mike and Allison Cole and family of Eldora, Iowa, Margaret Mae Jackson and partner Mick McCubbin of Owasa, Iowa, Marcy Dawn Jackson of Waterloo, Iowa, and Laura Jean Jackson of Iowa City, Iowa; four great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
